My chat with middle school theatre teacher Laurilea McDaniel. We talk about how she first got bit by the theatre bug, what she loves about teaching middle school, her favorite example of scenic design in a show, what has her stoked to do ‘Snow White,’ and a tip for teachers and directors wanting to try projections in their shows.

JUST finished a new projection design for Alice in Wonderland!
This show has been one of the most rewarding to design new art and animations for—so much possibility lies in each scene, to imagine and reimagine how to make this story come alive on stage for a new generation.
In art school, my teacher told us to draw with fat, chunky materials.
That’s right. No more pencils.
